The ATO’s Small Business Superannuation Clearing
House (SBSCH) will shut down on 30th June 2026.
What does this mean for you?
If you run a business that has employees,
and you currently use SBSCH to pay your employees superannuation you will need
to find an alternative solution. Without a super clearing house solution, your
business will not be compliant and may face penalties.
What can you do to prepare for this
closure?
You will need to find an alternative
solution.
You may be able to use your default super
funds’ own super clearing house solution in place of SBSCH. Please contact them
directly to confirm.
There are commercial clearing house
solution providers which you can sign up to, but this will incur a charge for
the clearing house service.
The ATO are strongly encouraging users to download/print your data before closure on 1st July 2026, after this date you will not longer have access to historical records in case of audit or employee queries.
To complete this, follow the below instructions
- Log into the SBSCH, go to the Payment Instruction tab, then the Historical tab.
- Select the period you would like to generate the history for, and details will be displayed of the Payment instructions for the selected dates.
- Click Print friendly version, and save the history as PDF (or equivalent).
- You can then repeat these steps for every period you wish to save.
It is recommended to also download your employees' super fund details:
- In the SBSCH, select Employees tab.
- Filter for All, Active, or Inactive employees, to generate the necessary information.
- At the bottom of the page, set Results per page to 100.
- More then 100 employees, will require the above steps to be repeated. Use the Page navigation below the list to view the next set of employees.
- Select the drop down arrow next to every employee record showing, to see the full details.
- Access your printer options within the browser
- This can usually be done by going to the three-dots in the top right corner, a panel will then open and you will see Print as one of the listed options.
- Select the option to Print to a PDF and save the file to your PC.
