If an employee is categorised as a ‘Working Holiday Maker’, STP2 requires a Country Code. The Country Code is essentially the employee’s country of origin.
When setting up an employee as a working holiday maker, it is now an ATO requirement to add in their current year to date income.
Setting a Country Code
When ‘Working Holiday Maker’ is selected, a Country of Origin label and drop-down list containing a list of countries will become visible in the TFN Declaration screen.
You will need to select a ‘Country of Origin’ when adding or modifying an employee if the ‘Working Holiday Maker’ option is selected and will be alerted via a message if you have not selected one.The Country Code is automatically determined when a country is selected. Registering for Holiday Makers
If you have employees with an Income Types of Working Holiday Makers, you will also need to register for Holiday Makers' to enable the correct tax rates. - 1. Go to the Wages section
- 2. Select [Tools]
- 3. Choose [Options]
- 4. Under Advanced Preferences, tick the Registered for Holiday Makers box.
